- development of sensitive and precise analytical in situ methods for the direct measurement of the bioavailable fraction of organic contaminants in various environmental compartments
- fate and effect of environmental chemicals in organisms, sediments and water bodies
- aquatic ecotoxicology, weight-of-evidence approaches (combination of a macrozoobenthos analysis, in vitro biotests and chemical analysis)
- development and application of optimized biotest batteries for the analysis of biological/ecotoxicological effects of organic contaminants on benthic organisms (risk assessment)
